Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Review! - Chantilly

Today I am writing a review on one of Nars latest products; the Radiant Creamy Concealer.

So i'm an aussie, and for us here the Nars brand is quite expensive, but surprisingly this concealer was only $35! (in my eyes that's quite good for Nars!) I purchased mine off Mecca Cosmetics www.meccacosmetica.com.au and it arrived ithin a few days.

First things; packaging. The lid is the matte style that Nars products mostly come in, which I love the look of, but they get dirty so easily! The tube is quite slim, and not bulky at all. Compact and perfect for a handbag!

I am pale, and chose the shade Chantilly, if you want to buy this but are unsure what shade, Mecca Cosmetics have descriptions of the colours and undertones next to the shades this concealer comes in (handy much?!) I find Chantilly perfect for me as it brightens and highlights as well as hiding dreaded dark circles!

The formula is exactly what it says; creamy and radiant! You only need a small amount to get the job done, and i find that if you apply over a moisturizer or eye cream, it slides on even better! The only bad thing I have to say is, it creases, well at least for me;

This was taken about 4.5 hours after application, and trust me, I use eyecreams and moisturiser and drink lots of water but just have no luck with those lines! But I do find that as great as this concealer is, it does crease and sink into the lines.

Overall, I would give this product an 8/10. I love the formula, the packaging, it does the job, but I do also believe there are other concealers a little bit cheaper that can do that same thing! (MUA concealer is amazing!!)

That's the review done, but on a final note, I am not even sure if people actually read these posts that I make, but I enjoy making them, so if you do happen to stumble upon this and read, let me know! I would love to hear any suggestions or something I could do better or even just meet some new people!!!

Thanks for reading!!!

The Balm - Blush Swatches and Review

Earlier in the year, The Balm Cosmetics ( www.thebalm.com ) had a 50% off all stock items sale when they reopened their new website. They did have issues and it took a week for the site to allow customers on, but I was dedicated and filled my cart with all the blushes, a mascara and a highlighter!

I decided to do a review and show four blushes that they sell. I personally love them, and would certainly repurchase!!

There are 4 blushes (which are also marketed as shadows) called:
- Hot Mama
- Frat Boy
- Down Boy
- Cabana Boy.

They do also have stain blushes new to the site, but I am yet to purchase!

Their packaging is unique and loveable. The tops pull open and close with a magnet. The pans are really generous and the blush is pigmented and blends out nicely!

First colour is Hot Mama:

Cute pinup girl packaging! As mentioned above, great size, not chunky, could certainly be safe to chuck in your purse and not be a nuisance!

This colour reminds me of Orgasm by Nars. Lots of glittery specks throughout. Looks a little earthy in the pan but blends out to a nice pink. I am quite pale with cooler undertones and I like the colour finish on my cheeks. The glitter adds a subtle highlight as well to me, so does two jobs in one! Definitely a good option if you find Nars a little bit too expensive, perfect dupe!

Next is Frat Boy. Love this one! The packing perfectly matches the name, and still has the pinup feel that The Balm goes for.

I love this colour, I seem to be drawn to peachy pinks! This really is the perfect colour to have in your makeup draw. This is matte, no glitter or shimmer, blends out more peachy then pink, perfect for anytime of day! As with all the blushes, a little goes a long way.

Downboy to me, is just a lovely flush pink. It is matte, and is just a lovely pink. No peach or red in it, and not bright or fluro either. I feel this colour actually resembles your cheeks if something makes you blush!

Even the detail on the inside of the product makes you smile! If your after a subtle nice simple blush, this is your best friend!!

Finally, is my favourite, CabanaBoy. I love this colour, perfect for Autumn and Winter time. The design on the front is a bit deceptive as the couple are lounging on the beach though!

Cabanaboy is a plum toned, matte blush. Blends in nicely to the skin keeping the darker tones which I love.

I would certainly recommend this colour if your on the hunt for a plumier winter shade!

All in all, these are great products. I don't have any negative thoughts on these, and they're reasonably priced!

These are the colours on skin in sunlight, starting from the left; CabanaBoy, Downboy, Fratboy, and HotMama.

These are just swatches on white paper in normal light, no flash, hopefully these swatches helps demonstrate the difference in colour. In order from left to right; Hotmama, Fratboy, Downboy and Cabanaboy.

Hopefully this was helpful to someone, somewhere! Great products with great formula, and they do last for the whole day!!

Getting to know me! My growing Makeup collection.

So, this is my first post! I have been sitting on the idea of creating a makeup blog for a while now as I slowly start to get more and more into makeup! I'm forever watching Youtube, searching blogs and swatches, and love trying out new brands recommended on the net!

I thought I would post a picture or two of my current makeup collection/storage (currently waiting on going away to purchase an Ikea Malm dresser) As I said, it's small, and growing.

It's not as great as I would like it to be, but its getting there. Some brands are: Mac, Urban Decay, The Balm, Loiele, MUA, NYX, Maybelline and Sleek!

Of course the lighting isn't the greatest, but I'm practising and can't wait to start showing products (is it bad that I have 2 Internet orders on their way?!)

So I aim to do reviews, swatches, hauls, monthly favourites and all that fun stuff!
